Import over shadows export of acrylic fibre in H1

According to customs statistics, in the first half of 2008 the export of acrylic fibre was lower than the imports made by China for domestic purpose.
The acrylic fibre exports were 5,800 tons from January to June this year. The export price was almost US $2489.92 per metric ton for the same.
Of which, acrylic staple exports were 2,700 tons, the shipment price was around $2632.08 per ton.
Acrylic tow exports were 2,900 tons, for which export price was almost $2342.15 per ton. Acrylic top exports were 190 tons and the export price for the same was nearly $2713.63 per ton.
The export price of acrylic top reached the highest in the first half of this year, while the price of acrylic tow hit the lowest.
On the other hand, China imported 92,700 tons of acrylic fibre from January to June 2008, import price was settled at nearly $2502.28 per ton.
Of which, imports of acrylic staple fibre were 50,300 tons, import price was almost $2556.22 per ton.
Imports of acrylic tow were 40,300 tons, with import price of approximately $2420.60 per ton. China imported 2,100 tons of acrylic top, the import price was nearly $2778.25 per ton.
