Beauty and innovation of Brazilian handicraft are now marketed at the world's oldest department store.

Japanese store Mitsukoshi, founded in the 17th century (1673), now places 1001 Retalhos bags next to big international fashion names.

The main hall displays also Marc Jacobs (stylist for Louis Vuitton), Kate Spade, Jamin Puech and Furla, among others.

The partnership started through Prêt à Porter Paris (PAPP) in September 2007 and took eight months to be actualized through the support of Sanyei group, which works in the Japanese and United States markets.

Now, on September, 1001 Retalhos will go back to the fair to launch its Rios do Brasil collection at the So Ethic hall, reserved for environmentally-correct products and socially-concerned companies.

Participation of 1001 Retalhos at the fair is organized by ABIT through Texbrasil, a Program developed in a partnership with Apex-Brasil.

1001 Retalhos works with several handicraft techniques and materials, such as fibers obtained by recycling pet bottles - 15% pet recycled thread and 85% recycled cotton.

New Rios do Brasil collection has nine models of bags that celebrate the Amazon, Tocantins, São Francisco, Araguaia, Paraná, Jaguari, Guaíba, Grande and Tietê Rivers.
