Increased demand - still low turnovers

With ending works holidays in most parts of the country, the trade received more enquiries from mill buyers obviously because of short coverage.
However, short-term available cotton of origins preferred in this market did correspond neither in price nor in the required qualities with the ideas of the buyers.
Hence, the conclusion of contracts was aggravated and only smaller lots could be committed. ELS/LS cottons were for price reasons and availability no longer traded since quite some time. In this range, the purchasing was already done earlier and for a longer period of time.
In the Upland range turnovers were registered in Central Asian sorts for prompt, further in the 3rd quarter 2008 and for dates in the 1st and 2nd quarter 2009; Greek descriptions and a smaller lot of Syrian cotton for the end of 3rd quarter 2008.
