The Jim Thompson Art Center proudly presents a talk with lecture will be held on August 31, 2008.
“Silk-making processes at Jim Thompson Thai Silk Company”a talk with lecture will explain all processes of silk production done at the Jim Thompson Thai Silk Company.
The lecture includes pre-production processes at the Jim Thompson farm, such as mulberry cultivation and silkworm raising, and all production steps at the Jim Thompson factory.
This program will be presented in semi talk with lecture including slide multi vision to show the environment of working process of Jim Thompson's factory, program's moderator by Jarupatcha Achavasmit, who is textile designer.
The program is part of current exhibition Invisible Hands: The People Behind Jim Thompson-The Thai Silk Company is to be held at The Jim Thompson Art Center.
The exhibition will concentrate on the people behind the scenes of Jim Thompson – The Thai Silk Company, the innovators in sericulture, design and the weaving of premium fabric.
This multi-media exhibition will feature the faces and remarkable stories of the company's people, from the second generation of management to the local people in upcountry factories.
The installation of photos, videos, music and audio recordings will interpret the hidden story behind the most successful enterprise in Thailand's silk weaving industry.
Exhibition available to visit on everyday in during time 9:00-5:00 till November 17, 2008.
