AFF plans to widen its horizon

The Asia Fashion Federation (AFF) held a conference on August 27 in Bangkok, where representatives from Japan, China, Korea and Singapore the AFF member nations, other than Thailand participated.
The member companies of Association, discuss issues related to development of Asian fashion industry. The Federation has made a decision of extending its activities by covering lifestyle products like leather goods, jewellery and other home décor items, other than textile, for venturing into new deals and building new contacts.
By doing this, AFF will be able to help the industry grow and improve the channelization for better marketing of the products.
This annual forum was held as a part of Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair 2008 (BIFF and BIL 2008)that is taking place from August 27 to 31 2008. These two fairs are organized at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (Bitec) in Bangna.
BIFF and BIL 2008, is a regional sourcing platform where domestic and global participants related to fashion and leather industry come to build contacts and improve trade relations. It also offers chance to the established as well as upcoming designers of the nation, to display their creations during 'Designers Room 2008' for showcasing their works, the event takes place simultaneously.
The Commerce Ministry of Thailand is sure that its fashion, textile and apparel exports will help nation earn nearly US $7.83 billion, a growth of 10 percent when compared to last year.
