Oao Polief puts into operation second line for production of PET

Oao Polief, put in to operation a second line for production of polyethylene (PET) capacity of 60 tons per year. The maximum production capacity will be reached from September 2009 onwards. With the addition of this new capacity, production will reach 120 tons per annum.
The new unit will manufacture PET-produced granules with characteristic viscosity of not less than 0.8 dl/d. PET is one of the most popular and advanced materials used in the manufacture of bottles for bottling beverages, fibers, composite materials and food packaging films.
The company will be able to attain higher levels of profitability once the plant reaches full production levels as; demand for products made from PET is very high in Russia.
The company also operates a unit to produce 230,000 tons per year of terephthalic acid (TPA). Since the beginning of this year, it has been able to produce 105,000 tons of TPA.
