Business Co-ordination House (BCH) and India-Tech Foundation (ITF) to organize an 'International Symposium on Geotextiles in India - What, Where & Why?'

After tremendous success in building world class infrastructure and offering innovative solutions, Geotextiles are all set to make a huge impact on the Indian Construction industry. With the long term benefits & cost advantage, these new-age textiles promise to bring about the next revolution in building materials.

Viewing the vibrancy that the Indian Infrastructure sector is witnessing coupled with the increased awareness of the benefits of geotextiles, BCH and ITF will be organizing an 'International Symposium on Geotextiles in India-What, Where & Why?' during CONSTRU India 2008 on 17 October, 2008 in Mumbai, India.

The Indian Construction Industry:
• Today India is one of the six fastest growing economies of the world. World class infrastructure is the key to a globally competitive economy and is critical to improved productivity across all sectors.
• The Indian Construction Industry contributes 20% of the GDP and has been estimated to grow at a consistent growth rate of 10% per annum.
• India offers Asia's biggest infrastructure investment opportunity and private sector participation will grow rapidly in coming years.

Symposium Highlights:
• The symposium aims at creating awareness about the variety of geotextiles available globally and the advantages they offer over conventional materials in various application areas. These include roads, highways, airports, dams, canals, river training works, landfills, railways, etc.
• The symposium will target the immediate issues of the industry which will involve removing the barriers and highlighting the technical know-how for each application area of geotextiles which would be dealt individually by industry experts.
• It is a platform that brings together top manufacturers, construction engineers, contractors, specifiers, consultants and decision makers in the infrastructure industry from India and overseas along with other interested players, thereby forming a common network.

Speakers will include experts from the industry who have experience and expertise in manufacturing, selling, procuring, designing projects using geotextiles and installation of the same. They will share their knowledge & skills about technology & markets to deliver a complete insight about the global and Indian scenario.

Attendees would comprise of designers, contractors, installers and decision makers of the industry keen on using innovative products for their projects along with manufacturers, traders and R&D personnel whose main area of interest & function is geotextiles and related industries.
