Kazanorgsintez celebrates 50-th anniversary

JSC "Kazanorgsintez" one of the largest enterprises of the petrochemical sector of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Russian Federation is celebrating 50-th anniversary of its foundation date and construction commencement, and 45-th anniversary of the date of the first product output.

JSC "Kazanorgsintez" is completing the execution of the first stage of strategic development plan by Polycarbonate Plant start up, the unique in Russia and CIS.

Coming to its 50th anniversary the enterprise has achieved good performances: for the last five years the output of products increased from 7,13 up to 21,5 billion roubles (301, 5% growth), the net profit increased - from 688,3 million up to 2,6 billion roubles (377,7 % growth), the average salary increased from 7,4 up to 20,5 thousand roubles (growth 277 %).

For 2007 the republican budget received 1,2 billion roubles of tax payment. The Company invests huge amount of money into revamp of the existing and construction of new production facilities.

Only for the period of 2004 - 2007, more than 35 billion roubles were invested to the projects of the first stage of JSC "Kazanorgsintez" strategic development plan, which, starting already from September 2008, will give opportunity to bring the annual production capacity of commercial output up to 60 billion roubles at a price for.

Great work has been done within the framework of the first stage of strategic development program execution:
• The infrastructure of the whole Company was reconstructed and revamped, at the same time every year 1,3 billion roubles are utilized for overhaul of equipment and measures for increasing of environmental safety level.
• The Low Pressure Polyethylene Plant was expanded, the linear and bimodal polyethylene were obtained for the first time in Russia and CIS. The Polyethylene production capacity was increased from 350 thousand tons up to 660 thousand tons per year with the possibility of its increase up to 810 thousand ton per year.
• The reconstruction and construction of new ethylene facilities are coming to completion, which increased from 400 thousand tons per year up to 650 thousand tons per year.
• Bisphenol-A Plant with the capacity of 70 thousand tons per year, the first one in Russia and CIS, was constructed and put into commercial operation.
• The construction of Polycarbonate Plant, also the plant which does not have analogues in Russia and CIS, was completed. Polycarbonate is an engineering plastic, used in production of different articles plastics, automobile parts, glasses and headlights.

Cell polycarbonate is used in construction of roof, greenhouses, since it does not let the infrared rays in, keeps the heat.

The polymer was obtained using new technology of Japanese Company "Asahi Kasei Chemicals Corporation", which excludes the application and obtaining of substances, hazardous for public health and environment.

Exactly with further processing of polycarbonate, along with the linear and bimodal polyethylene, the expectations are related for activation of small-size and medium-size business development in the Republic of Tatarstan and the Russian Federation and generation of additionally added value.
