Yiwu clothing industry focused on building brands

Yiwu city is one of the key textile and clothing bases in China, especially the innerwear industry, whose products are known world-wide.
It has been noted that this city has been concentrating on building brands for a while now. It already has many, particularly in underwear and innerwear sectors.
However, experts say that raising these brands to a global level will take considerable time.
Thus, local Government has adopted 'more the better' strategy, urging enterprises to create as many brands as possible.
According to the official statistics, by 2005, there were 11,216 registered brands in Yiwu city. Thus, it is estimated that by 2010 there would be more than 20,000 brands, here.
Experts have appreciated the efforts of companies to make their brand bigger. Reportedly, many firms are opting for all out advertising and marketing techniques, even recruiting famous movie and TV stars as their Ambassadors.
