Specialty chemicals company LANXESS AG is to raise its prices worldwide for leather chemicals effective October 1, 2008. The increases, which vary according to region, are in the single and double digit percentage range, depending on the product.

The Leather business unit belongs to LANXESS's Performance Chemicals segment, which achieved total sales in fiscal 2007 of EUR 1,970 million.

LANXESS is a leader in specialty chemicals with sales in 2007 of EUR 6.61 billion and currently around 15,100 employees in 21 countries. The company is represented at 44 production sites worldwide.
