Al-Shuwaib Spearheads Fourth Refinery Awareness Campaign will be held on 21st -25th September, 2008.

In the face of the vehement media onslaught on the Fourth Refinery Project, and within the framework of dissipating rumours and clarifying facts about the Project, Mr. Saad Al-Shuwaib the Chief Executive Officer, is spearheading an awareness campaign at the Oil Sector.

As part of the campaign, a series of lectures will be conducted for the employees of KPC & its Subsidiaries that will underline the importance of the eco-friendly project, its advantages and its feasibility.

Moreover, the lectures will elucidate the transparency of procedures. The objective of this campaign is to rally support amongst Oil Sector employees to key projects, extend communication channels and provide accurate information about core projects.

The refinery will produce 225,000 barrels of low-sulphur (one percent) fuel daily in order to accommodate the needs of energy production stations, which means that Kuwait's electricity stations will have fuel that reduces harmful emissions and will improve the environmental condition in the country greatly.

The sulphur content in fuel used at these stations was currently at four percent, and the use of the low-sulphur field will reduce harmful emissions by 75 percent, making this a great eco-friendly move.
