A.C. Moore announces 'Naturally Caron Baby Contest'
Oct '08
A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts Inc announced the “Naturally Caron Baby Contest” in association with Caron International and their Naturally Caron Yarn line.

Knitters and Crocheters of all ages, from beginner to experienced, are invited to create a baby blanket with the Naturally Caron Country and Spa yarns. Caron will judge the initial round of submissions; it will then be up to the public to vote online to determine the Grand Prize, First Runners Up and Semi-Finalists for both the Knit and Crochet categories. Winners will be awarded A.C. Moore gift cards.

Caron will also be donating $1 for each contest submission to Project Linus, a non-profit organization where volunteer “blanketeers” create handmade blankets or afghans that are collected locally and distributed to children in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, or “anywhere that a child might be in need of a big hug.” Contest knitters and crocheters will be provided information as to how they can donate their blanket to Project Linus.

Jan Kahn, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Caron International stated their company “is very pleased to co-sponsor this great contest with A.C. Moore that will benefit Project Linus and give A.C. Moore customers a wonderful opportunity to win some great prizes using NaturallyCaron.com yarns Spa and Country. We wish all the knitters and crocheters who enter the contest 'good luck'!"

Carol Babbitt, National President of Project Linus also voiced her support for the contest: “This is a great opportunity for us to reach out to more knitters and crocheters than ever before.”

Craig Davis, A.C. Moore Senior Vice President of Merchandising and Marketing, stated, “A.C. Moore is very pleased to work with Caron on this contest by providing inspiration to those who knit or crochet for their love of the craft and for such a good cause.”

The contest will run from October 17, 2008 through December 1, 2008. Contest information can be found at www.NaturallyCaron.com and will also be featured on both the A.C. Moore and Project Linus websites.
