According to the latest Customs statistics, in September, 2008, China imported acrylic yarn worth 2171 tons, down 1112 tons or 33.87 percent from the previous month, and marked a year-on-year drop of 7.56 percent.
Import value was around US $9.71 million, a fall of 29.74 percent from the previous month, but rising 16.52 percent as compared to same period last year.
The average import price stood at $4471 per ton, 6.24 percent higher than the previous month, and a year-on-year increase of 26.05 percent.
In the first three quarters, China's accumulated imports of acrylic yarn marked 29,976 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 24.54 percent.
Import value scored $116.29 million, recording a plunge of 13.24 percent. The unit import price was within the range of $3850 per ton, up 14.79 percent from same period last year.
