Ahlstrom's Disruptor(TM) PAC, a leading nonwoven technology for the filtration of water, has been nominated as one of the five finalists for INDA's 2009 Visionary Award, which is given annually to a new consumer product utilizing a nonwoven fabric in its final form.

The winner of the INDA Visionary Award will be presented during VISION 2009 Consumer Products Conference in the USA in January 2009. INDA is the trade association representing the nonwoven fabrics industry since 1968.

Ahlstrom's Disruptor(TM) PAC is a nonwoven, wet laid filter media that is based on nanoalumina fiber technology. Disruptor(TM) offers many benefits for consumer product water purification products, including refrigerators, tap filters, shower filters, counter top filters, under sink filters, prefilters to home reverse osmosis (RO) filters, water pitchers, water coolers and spa filters.

The nanoalumina fiber technology used in the product is licensed exclusively from the Argonide Corporation. This technology can economically improve the purity and taste of nearly any water stream by efficiently removing a large variety of contaminants including virus, bacteria and humic compounds.

There are currently more than 10 companies around the world developing innovative point of use consumer products that incorporate Ahlstrom's Disruptor(TM) PAC as the active ingredient.
