According to Petrochemical Industry Association of Taiwan (PIAT) official, the country is mulling over investing in Naphtha crackers in China.
Petrochemical enterprises from Taiwan have already invested in China, though in small scale. Due to stringent policies of Taiwan authorities, buyers have very limited channels access to raw materials. Now, investments into naphtha crackers and refining areas will help them to expand their business and integrate their supply chain in major export markets.
Recently, PIAT has inked a Letter of Intention (LOI) with the Government of Quanzhou City in Fujian, aiming to establish a local petrochemical park, including the construction of an ethylene cracker with an annual production capacity of 1,000,000 tons ethylene.
Naphtha cracker can turn it into an important ethylene raw material in the field of petrochemical.
