Polyester filament market acquires dull trading atmosphere

On Monday, November 24, PTA price inched up slightly; MEG price consolidated; prices of semi-dull and bright polyester chips, CDP chip moved sideways and PET bottle chip improved.

Acrylic staple fiber 1.5D × 38mm, acrylic top 3D × 102mm prices were flat; CPL price remained unchanged and nylon 6 chip price rebounded.

Trading atmosphere in polyester filament market was still very dull; varieties trend of polyester filament market appeared to be more scattered. Although offers were stable, actual transactions provided discount in order to promote sales.

At present, processing and weaving enterprises from the down stream markets show weakened purchase interest in spot market. Polyester filament market is likely to decline further amid moderate adjustment in the short term.

Overall prices of cotton yarn fell further, in comparison, cotton yarn 32s still had demand, as it is mainly used to produce cotton fabrics based on air-jet filament; demand of cotton yarn 32s and 45s was fair, but prices of cotton 21s and 32s fell.

Rayon yarn 10s was salable, but price showed downward trend. Viscose yarn and polyester-cotton blended yarn unchanged for the time being.

Polyester staple fiber price consolidated. Currently market price is at 6900 yuan per ton.

Viscose staple price trended lower; current market price averages at 12,750 yuan per ton.

Rayon yarn market is expected to trend lower further amid consolidation.
