INCC eyes Russia for carpet exports

Iranian carpet companies, in order to enhance their exports to the Russian market participated in Mebel 2008, the 20th International Exhibition for Furniture, Fittings and Upholstery, that opened in Moscow on November 24, will run till 28.
To avoid decrease in demand under the pressure of current financial crunch, Iran is now targeting new markets, other than its traditional consumers like the US and EU.
Iran National Carpet Center (INCC) has taken part in this expo to showcase exquisite hand-woven carpets and their weaving process. The pavilion assigned to them spans 50 square meter.
According to experts, the Mebel International Exhibition is a perfect platform to display an array of high end high-quality home furnishings, accessories, high-class interiors, decorative and finishing materials, advanced design technologies and unique decoration and style solutions.
Companies operating in the fields of upholstered furniture, carpets and floor coverings, decorative interior items, drapes, curtains, curtain tracks, interior textiles, from 30 countries are displaying their products.
Last year Iran's total carpet export stood at US $398 million.
