MW-Klopman to build new manufacturing facility in India

Klopman International - Europe's leading manufacturer of fabrics for workwear, image workwear, specialist protectivewear and casual apparel – and its new owners, MW Corp., are to create a new manufacturing facility in India for production of polyester/cotton, polyester/viscose and cotton fabrics.
MW Corp is a billion dollar enterprise, spearheaded by brothers, Mukul Kasliwal and Warij Kasliwal, with interests in textiles, renewable energy, hydro power and infrastructure development. MW Corp is a leading manufacturer of polyester/viscose fabrics in India which are marketed under the S Kumars brand of workwear and school wear fabrics.
The new plant will encompass the existing MW Corp plant in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, India, and the two plants will have a combined production capacity of 30M metres of fabric, with an opportunity for expansion to 50M metres. The new manufacturing facility will benefit from the technological, manufacturing and commercial expertise used in Klopman's European operation, where they will be sharing R&D facilities in product development, with highly advanced state-of-the-art manufacturing and processing equipment – making it the most modern textile plant of its kind in the world.
This development will give Klopman two production facilities. The new plant will service the local market in India and the Far East, plus European customers who source their garment production in the Far East, with the potential also to move into the North American market, offering the same high level of fabric quality, performance and service as that available from Klopman's European manufacturing plant in Frosinone, Italy. It will also be an important step towards establishing MW-Klopman as a leading global supplier of polyester/cotton fabrics for image workwear, specialist protectivewear and casual apparel.
Klopman's existing plant in Frosinone, Italy, will continue to serve the European and Mediterranean Rim markets and investment plans in terms of new technology and products at the Frosinone plant will continue.
This will place MW-Klopman in the position of being the only supplier of polyester/cotton in the world able to manufacture the same fabrics, with the same consistent levels of quality and performance, in two separate locations. This development will give the new group a total production capacity of 80M metres.
Representing an investment of almost €50M, the Indian plant is scheduled for completion by mid-2010. In addition to the same high quality fabrics, the new plant will provide the quality control, testing laboratory, stock service and logistic support throughout Asia and the Far East that European clients recognise as the hallmark of Klopman's success, and which are essential in today's fast-moving business environment.
This announcement of global expansion comes as Klopman celebrates its 40th anniversary, and the company can now look forward to establishing the Klopman brand on a truly global level.
