OTEXA to partake at INDEX 2008 interior furnishing show

The U.S. Department of Commerce, Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA), will be exhibiting at the INDEX 2008 interior furnishings show Dec. 3-7, 2008, with a sample booth and a pavilion consisting of 10 American exhibitors.
“With a solid reputation as one of the Middle East's most successful furnishings and contract interior design show, Index 2008 will provide these U.S. companies with the opportunity to showcase their products globally,” said Commerce Assistance Secretary David Spooner.
“OTEXA is committed to helping the U.S. textile industry remain a leader in innovation, by competing and winning in the international marketplace.”
The dynamic expansion of the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) tourism and hospitality industry, as well as the emerging housing and resort opportunities in the region, prompted OTEXA to participate for the fourth consecutive year at the show.
OTEXA promotes the show as an ideal venue to strengthen existing business contacts, build new relationships and to introduce new small and medium sized businesses to this vibrant marketplace. Six of the participating companies are new to the show and to the UAE market.
Textiles have been a major component of INDEX since the first exhibition in 1990. This year OTEXA is also introducing new decorative products for the residential and contract markets. For the first time, OTEXA will promote metal laminate veneers and art glass. Participating U.S. exhibitors include: Classic Rug Collection, Inc., and Home Treasures, Inc.
Ten additional U.S. companies will display catalogs and samples in the sample booth. These companies are: Chemetal, Classic Glass, Inc, Concierge Textiles USA, Dana Mills, Faribault Mills, The Leather Collection, NobleFibers, LLC, Roysons Corporation, Shuford Mills, LLC/Outdura Fabrics and Sleepline LTD.
OTEXA is a one-stop resource for exporting American-made textile and apparel products. OTEXA expands export sales of U.S. goods by participation in international exhibitions abroad, U.S. solo exhibitions, trade missions and export seminars. OTEXA also offers event-related market research and provides export counseling.
