Domestic handicraft industry to get a boost

The handicraft industry is expected to get a boost as the country's handicraft products may soon be showcased in the Japanese markets next year under the Development and Export Promotion of Brunei Handicraft Products under the aegis of the Brunei Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (BJEPA).
A visiting delegation from Japan, from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, JETRO and Brunei- Japan Friendship Association along with embassy officials from the Japanese embassy in Brunei met to discuss the concept, goals and objectives of the proposed trade fair.
They also visited a few handicraft enterprises to get a better understanding of the rich culture of the handicraft industry in Brunei.
