Available statistics show that in the month of September, Vietnam earned around US $21.3 million from export to Turkey market, that surged by 13.6 percent over previous month and 71.1 percent in comparison to similar period the year earlier. The total export value reached $279 million, soaring 88 percent year-on-year.
In the recent period Turkey has emerged as one of the key market for Vietnamese exporters. There is a huge demand for Made-in-Vietnam textile and garment products, which accounts for 18.86 percent of total export value to this market for the month of September and 15.51 percent of first 9 months of the ongoing year.
The export value of textile and garment products reached $4.01 million in September 2008, down 49.76 percent compared to August and 0.7 percent year-on-year.
In the period from January to September, the export of textile and garment products fetched $43.35 million worth of foreign exchange, showing a year-on-year increase of 49.47 percent.
