Indo Rama Synthetics (India) Limited has been conferred with the prestigious National Energy Conservation Award in the Petrochemicals Sector at the award ceremony held at Hyatt Regency, New Delhi.

The award was presented by Shri Sushil Kumar Shinde, Hon'ble Union Minister of Power, Government of India at the award function. Shri Rajiv Dayal, Business Head, Indo Rama Synthetics received the award in recognition of Indo Rama's aggressive energy conservation initiatives taken up at its plant located at Butibori, Nagpur.

National Energy Conservation Awards by Ministry of Power recognizes outstanding leaders in the various industries for their excellent practices and contributions in energy conservation.

The award was judged on the basis of several criteria including implementation of energy saving measures, actual energy savings – both electrical and thermal, specific reduction in energy consumption, implementation on latest technologies and commitment to environment and safety.

During 2007 – 08, an annual savings of Rs.3110 lakhs was achieved in the state of the art integrated manufacturing complex located at Butibori, Nagpur with an investment of Rs.9910 lakhs, having a pay back period of 3 years only. Indo Rama was earlier awarded the 2nd prize in this category for the year 2006-07.
