Polyester market show marginal changes

On Monday, December 5, PTA prices showed weakened trend; MEG slightly declined; semi-dull and bright polyester chip market temporarily stabilized.

In the past two days, trade volume was very small, supply and demand of CDP saw balanced trade with stability in price; polyester bottle slice price appeared temporarily steady.

Price of acrylic staple 1.5D × 38 mm consolidated, acrylic top 3D × 102 mm slightly fell; prices of CPL, nylon 6 slices moved lower.

Polyester filament market was sluggish; trading atmosphere remained poor; purchase enthusiasm of weaving factories and processing enterprises from downstream manufacturers was very low, prices continued to show a downward trend.

With the Spring Festival approaching, downstream manufacturers reduced their operating rate from normal; bearish atmosphere is spreading throughout the market. On one hand sales pressure of spinning chemical fibre plants is increasing; on the other price recession for sales promotion has become a general phenomenon. Polyester filament price is expected to move down ward.

All cotton yarn products maintained smooth operation; cotton yarn 32S, J40S saw better demand; they are mainly used in production of nylon / cotton fabrics by air-jet looms, demand of other specifications was pale.

Market of polyester and viscose blended yarn products showed marginal changes; trade volume was small; price of individual polyester / cotton yarn 80/20 declined.

Polyester yarn market was weak, trade volume of 45s was fair, but price of 21s fell. Rayon yarn market remained stable, sales of 10s increased slightly. Viscose staple fibre price was stable. Man-made fibre yarns are expected to show a smooth consolidation in the short term.
