Winners of 20th annual ARTS Awards announced

Dallas Market Center, the world's largest wholesale merchandise resourceand the Accessories Resource Team (ART) announced the winners of the 20th annual ARTS Awards during a gala event held the evening of Saturday, January 17 in The Grand Pavilion at the Trade Mart.

More than 500 guests attended the ceremony that featured the presentation of ARTS Awards in 25 categories and recognized Academy of Achievement honoree Murray Feiss, chairman of the board at Generation Brands. Attendees consisted of a wide range of retailers, manufacturers, sales representatives, media and designers from across the country.

The scene was set, as The Grand Pavilion was transformed for the evening with colors of plum, wineberry and gold touches throughout. Crisp white, tufted leather tête-à-têtes and elegant floral arrangements contributed to the ambiance.

Top designers, retailers and industry personalities presented the awards, in addition to DMC executives. Bill Winsor, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center, and Cindy Morris, COO of Dallas Market Center, offered opening remarks. Other presenters included Sharon Davis, executive director of ART; Colleen Visage, ART president and director of product development at Progress Lighting; Harvey Hollingsworth, former ART president and current president of The Natural Light; and Christi Proctor, TLC's Trading Spaces interior designer and owner of Home Place Interiors.

“Congratulations to the winners of the 20th annual ARTS Awards,” Winsor said. “It's an honor to recognize the decorative accessories industry and partner with ART each year in Dallas.” The ARTS Awards, presented each January during the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market, exists as the premier awards program for the decorative accessories industry and recognizes excellence from retailers, manufacturers, sales representatives and designers.
