Benzene prices in the Asian region soar

Reportedly, on January 22, the implementation price of pure benzene from Daqing Petrochemical, Jilin Petrochemical, under Northeast Marketing Company of China National Petroleum stood at 3050 yuan per ton with normal production rate.
Benzene price of Lanzhou Petrochemical is at 2800 yuan per ton with goods sold in East and North China. The Company has a capacity of producing 160,000 tons per year.
The implementation price of Maoming Petrochemical is quoted at 3300 yuan per ton; its January plan is to produce 3908 tons of pure benzene.
Shandong Qiwangda is currently operating at about 85 percent; its ex-factory price of Benzene is at 3,300 yuan per ton. Production capacity of the Company is at 60,000 tons per year.
Pure benzene price of Qilu Petrochemical is at 3200 yuan per ton, one of its aromatics plants is already shut due to maintenance since earlier this month; production capacities carried by the manufacturer are 200,000 tons per year of Benzene. According to the manufacturer, as the market remains in doldrums, production resumption time can not be determined.
Asian pure benzene negotiations slightly shrink, as Chinese New Year is approaching, traders are waiting to see intention of China's imports. Quotations for arbitrary March shipment stood at US $355-$370 per ton, FOB Korea.
Asian Benzene transaction: arbitrary March cargo is transacted at $653 per ton, FOB Korea.
On Wednesday, Asian Benzene stood at $360.00-$361.00, FOB Korea, up $0.25; FOB Southeast Asia was at $337.00-$338.00, up $0.25.
March shipment was offered at $380 per ton, counter-offer was at $350 per ton, $10 higher than April cargo.
Market prices in Europe and the United States rose steadily; domestic price also rose up to 3200 yuan per ton.
