Harry Gobble, a leader in the performance fabrics industry for more than 30 years, has announced plans to retire as president and general manager of Tri Vantage, the distribution services subsidiary of Glen Raven, Inc.

“I will truly miss Glen Raven customers and associates who I have worked with for many years, but it has always been my goal to retire a few years before the traditional retirement age,” said Gobble, an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoors enthusiast. “This is an ideal time for me – personally and professionally – to move into a new phase of my life. I leave Tri Vantage in very capable hands.”

Gobble joined Glen Raven in 1978 and has served in a number of management positions, including director of marketing for Glen Raven Custom Fabrics. He was instrumental in advertising and marketing strategies that helped to propel Glen Raven's Sunbrella brand into its position of leadership in awning, marine and furniture markets.

When Glen Raven purchased the Astrup Company and John Boyle & Company in May 2007, Gobble was tapped to head the consolidation process, which has included the creation of a new brand identity (Tri Vantage), formation of a management team, consolidation of three branches and the merger of Astrup and Boyle product offerings.

Steve Ellington, general manager and president of Glen Raven Custom Fabrics – Global, has been named to succeed Gobble as president and general manager of Tri Vantage. A 26-year veteran of Glen Raven, Ellington has held numerous positions throughout the Glen Raven organization, including national sales manager for Glen Raven Custom Fabrics before assuming the general manager position.

Leib Oehmig, general manager and president of Glen Raven Custom Fabrics – Americas, has been promoted to Ellington's global position. Oehmig's 19-year career with Glen Raven has included service as manager of Glen Raven's 1-million-square-foot Sunbrella manufacturing center in Anderson, S.C. Reporting to Oehmig will be Eugene Deleplanque, general manager of Dickson-Constant, Glen Raven's French performance fabrics subsidiary, and Hua Li (Wally), general manger of Glen Raven Asia, the company's business center headquartered in China.
