IMB features all solutions for production of clothing & leather processing

Comprehensive range of products
The range of products and services at this year's IMB — World of Textile Processing will encompass machines and facilities, IT solutions, and services for all stages of the value chain, from product development and various types of production processes to distribution In addition, IMB will once again showcase a broad spectrum of processing technologies for technical textiles, as well as textile machines, textile finishing, and logistics/RFID. There will also be a special area devoted to research and development and the supporting program will particularly focus on the top issue of environmental protection and sustainability.

IMB supporting program to feature series of first-rate presentations - The changes in the sector will also be addressed by IMB's comprehensive supporting program. For example, the theme of this year's IMB Forum will be “Technology for Shaping the Future — Opportunities through Progress.” The IMB Forum will take place on April 22 and 23, 2009, daily in the morning from 10:00 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. and in the afternoon from 2:15 p.m. to 4:25 p.m. In an already well-proven structure, four presentations will be held in each of the morning and afternoon sessions, with each session covering a main theme. The IMB Forum will be kicked off by Future Talk, in which high-level participants will discuss “Opportunities for the Future: Ecology and Sustainability," the megatrend of the next decade.

IMB Innovation Award 2009
Following its successful launch in 2006, the Innovation Award will be expanded for this year's IMB to include an additional category. Besides exhibitors and international research institutes, college students and young people with up to three years of work experience will now be able to submit their innovations for their competition, which will be judged in the new category of Students & Young Professionals.

The deadline for submissions is February 15. The response to the competition has been great. To date, 19 exhibiting companies, four research institutes, and seven young professionals have submitted a total of 31 innovations for the competition.

The best product developments and research results will be displayed in the Innovation Area on the Boulevard at Koelnmesse. The competition will once again be sponsored by the European Commission, which will be represented by Herbert von Bose, head of the "Industrial technologies” Directorate of the Directorate-General for Research.
