Fire turns to scrap machines & inventory of big weaving unit

The weaving workshop of Jin Tai Weaving Co., Ltd. located in Zengjia Town, Shapingba District, Chong Qing, covering an area of more than a 1,000 sq.mtrs was caught in a snowballing fire on February 1.
A lot of fire engines and firemen were involved in putting out the fire which turned in to scrap over 140 weaving machines. The company has claimed that the damages amounted to Yuan 5 million.
Since the unit caught fire during the Spring Festival holidays, all the workers were on leave so there was no loss of life. Along with the 140 weaving machines, cotton yarn and fabrics on the machines as well as godowns were burnt in the fire.
The company employs over 500 workers and would lose their wages till the time the weaving manufacturing unit is put back in operations.
