Volumes in wool yarn market increases but prices stay flat

In the just concluded week, downstream transactions of sweaters looked slightly active and thin sweaters for spring season gradually started arriving in markets. Trade volume of wool yarn also picked up. Market sales of Australian wool and acrylic yarns increased at a steady pace and prices remained stable.
Looking at the market trend of varieties, market turnover of Australian wool knot-free yarns, which is one of the mainstream products in the market, continued to rebound in the week. Market trend of China made fine wool-spinning yarns were stable, while volumes of Australian acrylic yarn enlarged compared with that of the previous week.
Downstream demand of imitation rabbit hair yarn Iceland 1.8Nm / 1 20N: 80A increased, but prices held steady at about 27,000 Yuan per ton.
Acrylic yarn market witnessed normal trade volumes, with no particular change in price movements; Australian wool & acrylic mercerizing shrink proof yarn have been selling briskly as these are used in knitting of spring sweaters. The market price of 48Nm / 2 30:70 stood at about 55000 Yuan per ton.
Shipment of imitation cashmere was smooth during the week, market price was stable, for example, imitation cashmere 28s / 1 and 36 s / 2 were offered at 25,000 Yuan and 26000 Yuan per ton, respectively. Market volumes of rabbit wool yarn grew, but prices stayed flat compared to that of the previous week.
In addition, market volume of blended lamb wool and nylon yarn 4Nm / 1 50:50 expanded, with prices quoted at 43500 Yuan per ton. The blend is mainly used in production of lady's skirt sets.
The market transactions indicate that a certain sales of downstream sweaters were shipped to North region, due to which demand for Australian wool and acrylic yarn is expected to increase. Market transactions of various raw materials in wool yarn market will not see any large shrink in early March too.
