Govt creates massive reserves of cotton under procurement plan

According to recently revealed statistics, China procured 29,000 tons of state cotton under the reserve procurement plan on February 10, of which, Xinjiang cotton was 10,000 tons and inland cotton 19,000 tons with the transaction price standing at Yuan 12,600 per ton.
Under the third reserve cotton procurement plan, as on February 10, total cotton purchases amounted to 654,650 tons. Since the beginning of procurement in 2008, the government has bought 743,050 tons of inland and 1,131,600 tons of Xinjiang cotton.
