Ethylene prices buoyed by renewed demand

The petrochemical industry, which witnessed extremely depressing days from the second half of 2008, is now seeing a reversal of trends. The reason for this is the increasing demand for petrochemical products since the last few weeks.
This has led to an overall increase in the prices of products like ethylene etc. Ethylene prices have increased by at least US $10 when corresponded with its price, same time last week.
Ethylene prices in Asia region:
Ethylene, CFR Northeast Asia, at US $705-715 per metric ton.
Ethylene, CFR Southeast Asia, at US $605-615 per metric ton.
Ethylene prices in Far East region:
Ethylene, FOB South Korea, at US $655 per metric ton.
Ethylene, FOB Japan, at US $655 per metric ton.
Ethylene prices in Europe:
Ethylene, FD Northwest Europe, at Euro 600-605 per metric ton.
Ethylene, CIF Northwest Europe, at US $705-715 per metric ton.
Price in the United States:
Ethylene, FAS Houston, at US cent 25.50-25.88 per pound.
