Buyers for China again dominated this week's sales with support from India. The normally strong presence by buyers for Italy in Launceston was less obvious today.

Sales will be held in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle next week, when 53,095 bales are currently rostered for sale. Present estimates for the following two sales are 51,925 and 48,200 bales, respectively. A decrease of 4.3% over the three sale period when compared with last year. The New Zealand Merino Company will offer 3,120 bales in Melbourne next week.

In South African sales, where 9,345 bales were on offer, the Cape Wools Indicator was down by 2.6% since last week against a 1.9% appreciation of the Rand against the US Dollar and a 2.1% appreciation against the Euro.
