A caprolactam plant, which is located at Tou-Fen in Miaoli province of Taiwan and owned by the China Petroleum Development Corporation (CPDC) has been running at reduced rates since it was restarted in December 2008. The plant was earlier shutdown in October, last year due to poor market conditions,

Fibre2fashion spoke to a senior company official to know more about the situation who informed us that, “Tou-Fen plant is running at 90 percent operating rates at present and will maintain the same rates till end of March, after which it will then take a scheduled shutdown for 45 days from early April”.

Divulging more details he said, “Kaohsiung plant has restarted its production from mid February onwards, but is running at low operating rates. The current average operating rate of this plant in February is 60 percent and which is expected to be gradually increased to 70 percent in March”.
