Xinjiang P&C Corp to increase spindle capacity

By the end of Feb 28, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corp had procured 1.06 million tons of 2008/09 cotton. About 590,000 tons have been sold, of which 353,000 tons have been sold to China National Cotton Reserve Corporation and about 470,000 tons have been stocked in the warehouse.
Along with purchasing cotton, Xinjiang Corp also has a spindlage capacity of 180,000 spindles to process cotton and produces a wide variety of yarns and fabrics and is planning to increase the same to 300,000 spindles by 2010.
The international financial crisis has brought a great impact on the cotton business of the Corporation and its cotton income has reduced by nearly 30 billion Yuan in 2008 and is not expected to improve even in 2009.
