Cotton sowing begins with full swing in new season

Cotton sowing for the new season has begun in full flow in the cotton rich country of Turkmenistan. Cultivation has begun in all the provinces of the country at the same time. The country hopes to harvest around 1.5 million tons of the white gold in the new season.
The fields have been ploughed well in time, in the run up to the sowing campaign initiated by the government and irrigation facilities have been carried out and provided to around 540,000 hectares of farm land allocated for cotton farming.
The Agriculture Ministry has indicated that for the first time the farm land has been allotted on the basis of sub-soil climatic conditions and seeds amounting to 65,400 have been allocated to the farmers, out of which 6,500 tons is long staple fibre and 58,900 medium staple fibres.
