Recently, Mr Luo Meiyuan, President of Wangbuliao, a well-known and reputed fashion garment manufacturing company put up a proposal to turning the textile and garment sector in Hunan Province in to 100 billion Yuan industry.
This proposal which contained insightful ideas to implement the same was presented to the Hunan Provincial CPC Committee chief Mr Zhang Chunxian, who immediately approved the proposal and issued instructions to expedite it.
In his proposal. Mr Luo, has mentioned that Hunan consumers spent around 50 billion Yuan on clothing alone in a year and was also listed among the top five in the country for the very same reason. But economies of scale are not derived since most are small scale units.
According to estimates, there are around 7,145 small and big textile and clothing enterprises registered in the province, providing employment to nearly 700,000 people, but were weak in innovation and rolling out traditional products.
He has suggested that innovation along with a few favourable polices from the provincial government, could foster the development of the sector and take the sectoral output to 100 billion Yuan in a few years time.
