Professionals from the world of tissue and disposable hygiene products will descend upon Jiangsu in April as the 16th Chinese International Tissue and Disposable Hygiene Products Exhibition and Conference gets underway. The event will be held between 23-24 April at the Suzhou International Expo Centre and will attract exhibitors and visitors from across China and throughout the world. UK-based Technical Absorbents Ltd (TAL) is just one overseas exhibitor preparing for the two-day show.

The CIHPEC exhibition hall is approximately 18000m2 and will have five separate pavilions – western, tissue paper manufacturers, disposable hygiene manufacturers, raw materials suppliers and machinery suppliers. Super Absorbent Fibre (SAF) manufacturer TAL is located on stand 4A 5521 and will be managed by the company's Chinese Agents – Shanghai Xierun Trading Co.,Ltd.

TAL is owned by Bluestar Fibres Ltd, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China National Bluestar Corporation – which in-turn is wholly-owned by ChemChina. During the exhibition, it is looking to raise further brand awareness, meet with new and prospective customers and ultimately expand its presence within the Chinese disposable hygiene market.

In addition to the manufacture of SAF, TAL also toll manufactures nonwovens, yarns, woven fabrics and finished consumer goods – all containing SAF. This is as a result of the relationships it has built with some of the world's leading specialist fibre converters, roll-goods producers and end product manufacturers. It is now working to develop similar networks with Asian companies in order to enhance routes to market within this region.

“The hygiene sector is one of the key industries for our technology,” says TAL Business Development Manager Dave Hill.

“SAF is easily converted into nonwoven fabrics for ultra-thin femme care products, diapers and incontinence products. It provides superior fluid absorption properties, super soft and discreet absorbent core designs, improved user comfort levels and ultra-low re-wet performance, which are all benefits desired by hygiene product manufacturers and the end-user.

“Even though we are a fibre manufacturer, we want to promote our involvement in all areas of the supply chain. The Chinese hygiene industry is on the increase and so now is a great time for us to be promoting ourselves and our level of expertise and super absorbent industry knowledge within this market. We would like to meet with anyone who is searching for this type of technology.”
