According to informed sources, a MEG petrochemical plant operated by Petkim Petrokimya Holding A.S located in Aliaga in Turkey and which has a production capacity of 80,000 tons per annum is currently off-stream.

The MEG plant was shutdown nearly a month back and is expected to be on-stream by the end of March, but no fixed date has been finalized as yet. The reduced demand could be the main reason for the plant going off-stream.

Specializing in petrochemical manufacturing, the company produces ethylene, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene and other chemical building blocks for use in the manufacture of plastics, textiles, and other consumer and industrial products.
