Invista has declared a clampdown on supplies from its North American region for Adiponitrile (ADN), Hexamethylene Diamine (HMD), nylon salt and nylon 6.6 polymer. This has come about a few days after one of its facilities in Texas caught fire.
This was announced by a company spokeswoman. She added by saying that the plant would be brought on-stream by April 2009. She did not divulge the time frame for the clampdown on supplies nor disclosed any details of probable supplies during the closure period.
INVISTA is one of the world's largest integrated producers of polymers and fibres, primarily for nylon, spandex and polyester applications and operates in more than 20 countries across North America, South America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
