Himachal Govt to exploit opportunity thrown open by IPL

The Himachal Government is planning to exploit the potential thrown open by the holding of the Indian Premier League matches in the state, which is a mega event by itself. This was revealed by the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Premkumar Dhumal.
He said, “An event of this magnitude is being held in the state for the first time and we will use every opportunity to promote the centuries old traditional handicrafts of the state”, and gave a directive to the Handicraft and Handloom Corporation to the effect.
The Corporation would set up a large number of retail outlets in and around the stadium and in the HP Tourism Corporation owned hotels which would sell souvenirs, gift items, clothing, jewellery and other handicraft products manufactured in the state.
