Textile Auxiliary Co., Ltd. of Tianjin Polytechnic University has recently developed a new enhanced fibre additive which can be used while constructing buildings or roads, which gives the buildings or roads additional strength.

This new development in the field of fibres has the potential to fill the gap in international markets for reinforced concrete for multiple applications like bunkers, runways, bridges etc, for which the company has applied fro a patent.

This enhanced fibre additive adds only 2-3 percent weight ratio to concrete, but has the potential to create 20 percent more resistance capability, when compared with normal construction materials currently used in specialized construction work.

The innovative fibre has properties to effectively control concrete plasticity, shrinkage, shrinkable crack, improve impermeability of concrete and anti-impact ability; therefore it can extend service life of concrete construction facilities.

Such additive can also be used in ship building and act as a preservative to increase the life-time of ships and prevent algae micro-organisms from ruining the structure of the underwater area of the ship in the long run.
