A Caprolactam plant of CPDC in Kaohsiung, Taiwan had to be stopped due to a problem in the plant's equipment on March 19, 2009. The Caprolactam plant has a production capacity of 180,000 tons per annum.

Fibre2fashion spoke to an official of the company who confirmed the news by saying that the plant had to be stopped due to an equipment malfunctioning but has been restarted with effect from March 24, 2009.

He added by saying that since the plant stayed closed for four days, the company faced a shortfall of 2,000 tons of production of Caprolactam and said this was an unplanned shutdown and now plant is running smoothly.
