The average profit margins of China's entire textile industry grew by only 3.5 percent in 2008. In view of the world economic situation this year, China Textile Association is unable to comprehensively estimate the industrial profit for 2009.
But as long as enterprises can survive through the second quarter, there may be a turn for better in the second half due to domestic demand boost policy and stimulating policies implemented by the government, aver experts associated with the industry.
About 34 percent of China's textile enterprises are now facing problems in not receiving consistent orders while about 66 percent of the enterprises are facing survival crises, a situation which is worsening with each passing day for a few.
The above 34 percent of the industry contributed 8 percent to profit growth and accounted for 99 percent of industry profits, while the 66 percent contributed only 0.1 percent to profit growth last year.
