2nd Advanced Textiles 09 – European-US Entrepreneur Networking Conference is going to start today in Brussels. Geared to fostering bilateral business co-operation and valuable knowledge exchange throughout the complex value chain of technical textiles this conference concept has proved to fill in a gap in the existing event portfolio.
Conceived as a cross-sectoral networking platform it recorded a very positive response from the audience. A well-balanced blend of innovative global players and sme's got together to discuss urging business issues and strategic partnerships in one-to-one talks and to learn from inspiring industry lectures.
Multitel is participating in SYSTEX, an European coordination action submitted in response to the 2nd call for proposals in ICT under FP7.
The upcoming conference in Brussels will start with a future oriented innovation session on April 2 that zooms in on the challenges and bottlenecks of launching smart textiles on the market. Successful and experienced industry and research experts introduce the audience to new and currently approved technologies for various applications ready for an interdisciplinary transfer to other areas.
Dr. Andreas Lymberis, European Commission Information Society & Media Directorate-General, scientific officer Micro Systems is chairing this session followed by a round table. Prof. Lieva van Langenhove, University Ghent, will give a brief outlook on Systex and explain the benefits for affiliated members.
Dr. Reinhard Büscher, Head of Unit, D2 Support for Innovation, EU Commission and Michèle Sioen, Chief executive Sioen industries nv, Belgium and president of Fedustria, the Belgian textile federation are key note speakers at the conference.
