In tune with rising petrochemical prices in the last few days, Paraxylene prices also have increased considerably. Asian Contract Prices (ACP) have mounted by nearly US $50 per ton in April when compared with March.
There have been a series of settlements of Paraxylene ACP at $880 per tonne by both Idemitsu and Nippon Oil with several of their major customers. This is a rise of $50 per tonne over the March ACP of $830 per tonne.
This spurt in prices reflects the current strong paraxylene market which is seeing spot prices in the range of $950-980 CFR China/Taiwan. PTA bids are currently being seen at $770 CFR China with no offers being made.
