EVTEKS 2009 will be held at the Istanbul CNR Expo Center between the 20 - 24th May. It offers visitors an opportunity to meet industry leaders, attend "Trend Forums" presented by leading designers and enter a competition for the "Up and Coming Designer Awards".

The "Trend Forums" marked a natural extension to a successful partnership between the Uludag Exporters' Association (UIB) and the Istanbul Trade Fairs (ITF) Inc. This year with the new addition of the "The Up and Coming Designers Awards", the exhibition gathers more momentum and promises an exciting programme.

"In the current economical climate successful trade events are the ones that embrace new media technologies that connect organisations, media and consumers," said Mr. Baris Can Erol - Istanbul Trade Fairs Deputy Managing Director. "It is our role as the event organisers to leverage these new technologies to reach more customers for our customers and position EVTEKS as the worlds leading home textile exhibition within the next few years".

Mr. Erol added "The Trend Forums proved to be a great success in 2008 by highlighting the industry trends for 2009, this year EVTEKS 2009 has increased the size of the Trend Area to accommodate expanding interest and introduced the "Up and Coming Designer Awards" to encourage talented new designers to attend the exhibition and offer them a chance to meet the industry leaders and decision makers."

Mr. Ibrahim Burkay President of (UIB) commented "EVTEKS 2009 will exhibit business opportunities from Europe, the Middle East and Africa as well as the Americas and Australasia, and as Istanbul is a cultural and business hub in the region; visitors should not only consider this event for trade purposes but also a chance to explore the European City of Culture for 2010."

The Hosted Buyer Programme 2009 organised by the Under Secretariat for Foreign Trade will be attended by Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Finland, India, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Panama, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, USA and Venezuela.
