MerinoFresh - a SMART 100 innovation

Australian Wool Innovation's MerinoFresh technology has been named one of Australia's top 100 innovations in the inaugural 'SMART 100' index, one of the largest awards of its kind in the country.
MerinoFresh ranked 27th in the top 100 list, beating more than 830 other nominations.
This is an impressive outcome for a fibre technology innovation given the top 10 list was dominated by medical and lifesaving products that included a revolutionary breast cancer detection test, a portable retinal camera to screen for eye disease, and a glow in the dark evacuation system. Significantly, Merino Fresh was the only textile innovation to rank in the SMART 100's top 30.
Since launching MerinoFresh at international trade fair Premiere Vision in Paris in September 2008, Australian Wool Innovation has worked with manufacturers in China, Japan, Korea, India and the USA to transfer and commercialise the revolutionary shower-clean technology.
