Sewing machine sector has difficulties as well as opportunities

The President of China Sewing Machinery Association, Mr Tian Min Yu points out that the industry will focus on enhancing the capability of independent innovation as the main link of changing the way for industrial economic development.
The industry will embark on a new road of industrialization, which represents high content of science and technology, good economic returns, low resource consumption, and less environmental pollution, through technological innovation, management innovation and system innovation.
It is expected that the industry will fully recover and enter a new phase of rapid development by 2011. Industry-wide product share of the mechatronics sewing equipment will increase from current 10 percent to 50 percent.
Along with which, new product output value will increase to 20 percent, annual export growth will once again touch 10 percent, total industrial output value growth will be more than 15 percent.
The economics and operational quality of the industry will advance to a new level which will put industrial development of the sewing machine sector on the fast lane. He added by saying that, 2009 is a crucial year for upgrading the sector and there exist difficulties as well as opportunities.
