Price testing for later dates

Trade sources reported different demand by the local spinning mills. Short term need partly still existed, but there were also price inquiries for later delivery- / shipping terms, which in most cases did not lead to the conclusion of contracts.
Sellers in the countries of origins of growths kept the price basis high, in particular, as buyers in other markets paid the demanded prices. Overall, the business situation was depressed during the reporting week.
Turnovers were reported on Greek descriptions, Central Asian Sorts, and West African styles for prompt and for dates after the holidays and through into the 4th quarter 2009.
LS/ELS varieties were still sought-after, the sales figures were limited to small quantities of Sudan Barakat and Israel Pima.
