Development of Rabigh Phase II Project

JGC Corporation has been awarded a contract by Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) and Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd (Sumitomo Chemical) for the Engineering and Project Management Services for the feasibility study of the development of the Rabigh Phase II Project (Rabigh II Project). The services will be executed under a cost-reimbursable contract.

The Rabigh II Project is a major expansion of the existing petroleum refining and petrochemical production complex (Rabigh Phase I) recently commissioned by Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Company (Petro Rabigh), a joint venture company between Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemical in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Project will include expansion of the existing ethane cracker and the construction of a new aromatics complex using naphtha, as well as various higher value units and specialty petrochemical products.

Prior to the award of this contract, JGC successfully completed the major facilities for Rabigh Phase I, including the Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) unit and the ethane cracker. JGC will carry out management work for the project period in concert with the client.
